• Kajto and Jarek win SS12 and extend their advantage over fourth placed crew;
  • After the opening loop of today’s leg LOTOS Rally Team crew leads Day 2 standings in Barum Czech Rally Zlin;
  • Kajetanowicz just behind Czech rally champion: on the final stage of the loop Polish driver took 11.6 secs off Vaclav Pech Junior’s advantage and trails him by only 13.3 secs;
  • Consistent and effective performance of Polish crew – another two top three stage times.
Kajetan Kajetanowicz and Jarek Baran started the day with effective performance on the opening stage, described by the competitors as extremely tricky. They lost just 3.9 seconds to the fastest crew. On the legendary Trojak test – the longest one in "Barumka" – LOTOS Rally Team crew scored another top three time, bringing the total number of stage podiums in this event to eight. Czech rally champions Vaclav Pech Junior, running second in the rally, was quicker by just 0.4 seconds. Current FIA ERC leaders displayed an incredible performance on the final stage of this morning’s loop. Kajto and Jarek set a blistering pace on Zlutava stage and won this test in overall classification. This excellent effort gave them the lead in Day 2 standings. There are still three stages to go in Barum Czech Rally Zlin: the crews will tackle Semetin, Trojak and Zlutava stages once again, with total length of 43.6 competitive kilometres.

Kajetan Kajetanowicz: – The morning stages were an excellent wake-up call because we are a little tired after yesterday. It is a very difficult rally – we sleep for five hours and drink 6-7 litres of water per day [smile]. Today’s leg was supposed to be even more demanding than the previous one and so it is. We want to push and drive as quickly as possible but on the other hand we remember what we are fighting for, so we want to avoid mistakes and maintain our position. There are many rough cuts, bumps and uneven places on these roads – all these factors are lethal for the tyres and destroy them a lot. It is very difficult to find a right rhythm, especially on such demanding and fast stages, and this is our challenge for today. Sticking to this plan gives us great pleasure [smile]. We have an excellent team, where everybody keep their fingers crossed for us and works brilliantly at the same time so all we can do is to give a lot of fun to the fans on the special stages. I think they are also very happy.
