During the second Saturday’s loop of Barum Czech Rally Zlin precise driving on rough and bumpy Czech stages became even more important. The grip levels were worse due to sand, small stones and gravel thrown on the road by the cars on the first loop. It did not stop LOTOS Rally Team crew from setting excellent times. On two of three special stages on the second loop Kajetanowicz and Baran were quicker than Vaclav Pech Junior – Czech rally champion and last year’s winner of Barum Czech Rally Zlin – and were fractionally slower than Jan Kopecky of Skoda factory team. These results consolidated their third position in overall standings and the gap to fourth-placed crew reached almost half a minute. At the same time Kajetanowicz leads Irish driver Craig Breen – currently second in FIA ERC classification, his biggest rival in the Championship – by over 3 minutes. There are still two stages to go today: Majak (13.72 kms) and Kudlovice (17.92 kms).

Kajetan Kajetanowicz: – I tried to push even more on the second loop. We extracted maximum pace from ourselves and from our car – on the finish line of extremely fast Kudlovice test our brakes were literally in flames. When we finished the next stage – Slusovice – with second fastest time, I thought that it would not be possible to drive quicker on this road. Every part of these special stages is extremely difficult but this is why we feel such emotions in the car and we have a lot of fun with our driving.
