On the opening stage of Day 2 of Rally Estonia Kajetanowicz and Baran showed that they aim for victory in round six of FIA European Rally Championship. The Polish crew left all competitors behind on the longest test of the day – 13.32-kms Vissi 1 – and notched up their second stage victory in Estonian ERC counter. With third-fastest time on Sulaoja 1 (7.11 kms), LOTOS Rally Team crew raised their tally of top-three finishes in Rally Estonia to ten. Before the final loop the Polish duo trails the leaders by 12 seconds and there are still three special stages, with 32 kilometres of competitive driving.

 

Kajetan Kajetanowicz: – We did not need an espresso this morning. We were quickest on the opening stage of the first loop. I have to admit that I enjoy waking up this way :-) I am happy because we maintain our focus on the highest level all the time. This is very important, as we take the corners without lifting the foot off the throttle at all. It was raining overnight and the roads are damp so during the final loop the stages could be destroyed a little. Many experienced crews have already retired from this rally and it shows that you can not rush like crazy. It is important to find a compromise between risk and fast but confident pace. We are able to get this balance right in our first outing on these stages. I am happy that my whole team works with incredible commitment, determination and also satisfaction. Still there are three stages to go but we can already feel happy. No matter how this rally ends for us, it is a great achievement. Before we came here I had not even dreamt about winning stages. However, we won two stages so far, scored ten top three finishes and we are fighting for victory. This is amazing :-)
