Since the beginning of Rally Liepāja Kajetan Kajetanowicz and Jarek Baran remained in fight for top positions. On every finished special stage they recorded times in top three of overall classification and after four stages they held second place in the standings. Unfortunately on the final stage of the day freshly crowned FIA ERC Ice Master experienced a great stroke of bad luck. On the second passage in one of the slowest corners, cut by virtually every crew, a big hole appeared. Unfortunately, despite additional lights mounted on the car for evening stages the crew was not able to see how big was the hole on the inside. Polish crew got stuck in this hole and right front suspension of their Fiesta was damaged. It was impossible to continue and fight for victory in the rally. Soon it turned out that several other crews also experienced problems in the same place and ended their rally in this tricky section.

Tomorrow LOTOS Rally Team will rejoin the fight in Rally Liepāja. Today M-Sport team will prepare the car of Kajetanowicz and Baran, so that Polish crew could fight for bonus points for Day 2 of Rally Liepāja.
