"Unbeaten", "Impressive", "King Kajetan", "Record-breaker", "Relentless", "Masterclass", "Domination", "Fantastic", "Quickest again" – these words were used by spectators, journalists and fellow drivers to describe performance of Kajetan Kajetanowicz in Jännerrallye. It is no surprise, as LOTOS Rally Team crew won 17 of 18 special stages of FIA European Rally Championship curtain raiser and hold commanding lead in the series. The size of their success is underlined by huge advantage over their nearest rivals, which exceeded seven minutes.

Unlike in recent years, this time Jännerrallye was a real winter round of FIA ERC. Right before the rally roads in Austrian Mühlviertel region were covered with fresh snow. Polish crew dominated this event from start to finish, in extremely difficult and tricky conditions. To begin with, Ford Fiesta R5 driven by Kajetanowicz was quickest on the Qualifying Stage. During two days of serious competition LOTOS Rally Team crew won 17 of 18 special stages. Polish duo covered 240 kilometres of snowy and icy roads with exceptional efficiency, winning stage after stage and building impressive gap to the rivals. Kajetanowicz and Baran stayed focused while fighting on roads with grip changing from one corner to another and avoided mistakes, although many experienced and successful opponents were caught out in tricky conditions.

LOTOS Rally Team won the rally in impressive style, with record-breaking achievements. Over the course of past few seasons no other crew won more than nine stages in a row or more than 14 stages in a single FIA ERC round. Kajetanowicz and Baran, scoring one stage victory after another, won 17 stages in a row, defeating second-placed crew with comfortable margin of over seven minutes. It was fourth FIA ERC win in career of Kajetanowicz.

LOTOS Rally Team crew scored a total of 39 points in Freistadt: 25 for victory in overall standings and seven for winning each of two days of competition. Jännerrallye is also one of two rounds counting towards winter classification of FIA ERC. Seventeen stage wins on ice and snow gave Kajetanowicz and Baran 176 points and comfortable lead in FIA ERC Ice Masters standings.

Kajetan Kajetanowicz: – Victory in FIA European Rally Championship round is an incredible feeling. I have to admit that for the whole final stage I was already thinking about how beautiful it would be on the finish line. It is fantastic that we are here, we have won this rally and recorded so many stage wins. It was a hard work of the whole LOTOS Rally Team. I want to thank everybody, especially those who counted on us and believed that we could achieve such great success. I know that there is a lot of work ahead and this is our plan. I also know that we can improve further. Every round of FIA ERC is completely different. Here we had fantastic feeling. Everything worked out just great. Every piece of the puzzle was in a right place. This also confirms that we were perfectly prepared to this extremely demanding rally. We were going to bed very late and waking up very early but now we can celebrate and enjoy our success. But not for long: right after prize giving ceremony I will start thinking about the next rally.

Jarek Baran: – We were prepared really well and we maintained good pace for two days. Experience from past years is always helpful but this edition of Jännerrallye was significantly different because of the condition. Winning with such advantage is always nice but this is just the beginning of the Championship.
