Kajetan Kajetanowicz, co-driven by Jarek Baran, does not slow down at all. Polish duo made an energetic start to the second day of Jännerrallye, raising the record of consecutive stage victories to thirteen. LOTOS Rally Team crew again won every single special stage.
The competitors admitted that opening three stages of Day 2 were full of surprises. In these unpredictable conditions LOTOS Rally Team crew found the best grip, rhythm and pace. On the first stage, Gutau (8.3 kms), Kajto and Jarek went quickest with margin of more than one second per kilometre (11.5s in total). They finished the longest stage in the loop, Unterweissenbach (12.54 kms), with 11.6s advantage over competitors using the same car and tyres. The gap between factory drivers and Kajetanowicz and Baran was even bigger and reached one minute. Ford Fiesta R5 of Polish crew finished the loop with 5s advantage on SS13 (Arena Königswiesen, 7.8 kms). Kajetan and Jarek consistently increase their advantage in overall standings, bringing it close to incredible four minutes and 30 seconds.
Jännerrallye is one of two winter rounds counting towards FIA ERC Ice Masters 2015 classification. Every stage win means another 10 points for Kajetanowicz and Baran, so thirteen stage victories to date give them 130 points in winter standings of European Championship.
Kajetan Kajetanowicz: – We have good feeling today :-) We attacked straight away, winning all morning stages and we are going to push on the next loop as well. We do not want to slow down because it is easier to loose concentration and we have to stay focused until the end. There were many surprises on the morning stages, with sudden grip changes which are hard to predict. This is why I am very happy that we are able to push and win stages. We are pleased with our pace. We will try to maintain the balance, with emphasis on fast pace. The last stage will be run in darkness and with rapid changes of grip it could bring a lot of excitement.
