LOTOS Rally Team crew sets the pace in Jännerrallye since early morning. Kajetan Kajetanowicz and Jarek Baran were quickest on all stages of FIA ERC curtain raiser and after six special stages hold the lead of over one minute.

Heavy snowfall means that the roads around Freistadt became even more tricky than during the opening loop. A lot of dangerous and treacherous places are covered with snow. LOTOS Rally Team crew consistently built their advantage in extremely difficult conditions, winning next three stages and increasing their advantage over closest competitors to over one minute. Today there are two more loops of two stages to go: Pregarten (8.76 kms) and Schönau-St. Leonhard (almost 23 kms). The longest stage will take place in the dark, with snowy, forest roads illuminated only by headlights of rally cars.

Kajetan Kajetanowicz: – The second loop was very good for us. Both we and our car performed very well :-) We are on the right track – the road is white but it is right. There was a lot of loose snow on the road and it was unbelievably slippery. Our average speed during this loop was a bit lower because of fresh snow but anyway we exceeded 160 kph in many sections, going sideways at the same time. Believe me, it is very exciting for us. The snow poles put by the Austrians at the edge of the road are very useful when you want to drive fast on these demanding stages. They helped us to find the best line through corners although I felt a bit like an alpine skier in giant slalom.
