As usual, rally season in Poland comes to an end in Warsaw, where this spectacular event takes place on Saturday, 6th of December. For the first time this year Polish fans will have a chance to watch Kajetanowicz and Baran in their home event, after they secured FIA ERC Gravel Masters title and 4th place overall in their first ever season in FIA European Rally Championship. Barborka Rally has no secrets for LOTOS Rally Team crew, as they dominated this event last year.

This event was held for the first time in 1964. The first weekend of December is traditionally saved for Barborka, which is not just the rally, but also motorsport show, with entry list packed with racing and rallycross drivers, as well as celebrities. This rally does not count towards Polish Rally Championship, so there are fewer kilometres to cover, while regulations allow significant improvements of cars’ specifications, compared with their homologated equivalents.

In the evening after the rally the crews tackle Karowa Super Special Stage, which can be called Polish Race of Champions. The route of this famous stage in Warsaw city centre consists of tarmac and cobblestone sections and the road is famously slippery in cold winter conditions. Prestigious competition between the best Polish drivers attracts many spectators as well as TV viewers, who can watch this stage thanks to live coverage.

Kajetan Kajetanowicz- It might sound unbelievable, but I feel a bit nervous before Barborka, because it will be our first rally in Poland this year, in front of spontaneous Polish fans. I saw a lot of Polish flags during FIA ERC rounds but I still missed my home events. This motivates us even more to find the best balance between fast and spectacular driving. Last year we won both the rally and the legendary Karowa stage, so we raised the bar very high. Barborka is not just a rally. It is the best opportunity to say thank you to everyone who supported us during our successful campaign in FIA ERC. We want to express our gratitude to loyal fans, the people who worked with us and our partners, because thanks to them we could start this amazing European adventure. We will tackle stages in Warsaw in our Fiesta R5. Our car will be just slightly improved comparing to the version we used in FIA ERC. This means that we will not have as much power as many of our great rivals. Anyway we take it as another fascinating challenge and we will try to win, as we always do. We promise to go flat-out because we want to make a great show for the fans. See you in Warsaw.

Last year Kajetanowicz and Baran were fastest both in Barborka Rally and on Karowa Street, which marked third win of this stage in a row for Kajetanowicz.
