Jarek Baran
Jarek Baran rally co-driver, born on 24 December 1967 in Kraków.

Born in a family of rich rally traditions. His brother Maciej is also a very successful co-driver. Thanks to invaluable help of his father – driver and co-driver himself – Jarek took part in his first rally as a driver. He did not reach the finish line because... he could not find it. This is why he decided to explore thoroughly the secrets of rally co-driving and now, as a professional co-driver, he has almost 250 rally starts in different categories under his belt, including over 90 podium finishes.

He started his career in the Polish Rally Championship in 1989 and since then he has faithfully represented Automobile Club of Kraków. Over the course of his career Jarek has worked with many official teams competing in the Polish Rally Championship. He scored over twenty Championship titles in various classes and groups. Jarek is one of the record holders when it comes to the number of rallies contested (over 140), victories (35) and podium finishes (63). He has also scored the most Championship titles in overall classification: with Janusz Kulig (1997, 2000, 2001) and Kajetan Kajetanowicz (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013). In 2001, with Janusz Kulig, Jarek secured runner-up spot in the FIA European Rally Championship and in 2015, with Kajetan Kajetanowicz, he won the FIA European Rally Championship title.

For many years he shares his vast knowledge and experience through his own project "Academy for Co-drivers". Four full courses were organised so far and over 50 young competitors enhanced their knowledge of rally co-driving. In 2009, in collaboration with the Polish ASN (Polski Związek Motorowy – Polish Automotive Association), he developed and carried out training courses for over 250 young competitors in five major automobile associations all over the country.
