- Kajetanowicz and Baran lost an excellent third place in Barum Czech Rally Zlin after engine failure;
- The
failure compromised the plans of the European Rally Champions – the
Polish duo will not finish Leg 1 of round 8 of the 2016 FIA ERC;
- Mechanics
of the Polish team will try to identify and fix the failure, so that
Kajto and Jarek could return tomorrow and fight for points in the Czech
FIA ERC round.
Impressive third place after three
special stages in the strongest field of the season – this was the
situation of Kajetan Kajetanowicz after today’s opening loop of Barum
Czech Rally Zlin. Right from the start the Polish crew consistently set
stage times among the frontrunners and began the second loop with strong
intention of maintaining fast, regular and confident pace.
Unfortunately
on stage four of round 8 of the 2016 FIA ERC the engine in LOTOS Rally
Team car failed. Despite this problem Kajetan and Jarek managed to reach
the finish line with a very good time but it soon turned out that it is
not possible to continue today.
The car of the championship
leaders is on the way to the service park, where the mechanics will try
to identify and fix the failure, so that Kajetanowicz and Baran could
return tomorrow and fight for precious points in 46th edition of Barum
Czech Rally Zlin.
