Today, just like yesterday, Kajetan Kajetanowicz and Jarek Baran finished the competition in Rally Rzeszów as the leaders of the Polish FIA European Rally Championship round. Throughout this very long and unbelievably hot day the LOTOS Rally Team crew negotiated one stage after another quickly, effectively and consistently, avoiding mistakes and incidents which befell their rivals. Excellent performance of Kajetan and Jarek was proved by five wins on seven stages run so far in round 7 of the 2016 FIA ERC and two runner-up spots. Top place in Leg 1 standings means that Kajetanowicz and Baran scored maximum amount of points today.

Heading into the final day of competition on challenging stages in foothills of the Carpathian Mountains, the LOTOS Rally Team duo has more than half a minute in hand over second-placed Bryan Bouffier and Xavier Panseri, while their advantage over Grzegorz Grzyb and Robert Hundla, who occupy third position, has grown to almost two minutes. On Saturday the crews will fight on three special stages run twice. First of them is Korczyna (24.11 kms, starts at 9:35 and 14:20 CET) which includes the section used during one of the Polish Hill Climb Championship rounds. After this test the competitors will move to Wysoka stage (9.14 kms, starts at 10:20 and 15:05 CET) and afterwards both loops end with Zagorzyce test (19.82 kms, starts at 11:05 and 15:50 CET). Unofficial rally results will be published at around 16:40 CET and the official finish ceremony will take place at 17:30 CET, on the main square of Rzeszów.

Kajetan Kajetanowicz: – It was a successful day for us, especially the second loop. We won all the stages and extended our advantage to over 30 seconds but we have to remain focused. Tomorrow the conditions could change, we have to wait and see what the weather would be like. The whole team worked perfectly today, they deserved a round of applause. I felt their support, our car performed very well. Interestingly, I changed slightly the car set-up during the service break and it turned out to be a great decision. I had not suspected that so small modification would have such a big influence on our pace and my feeling. I am happy that there are so many fans, for sure the weather has something to do with it. They cheer us on and we enjoy it very much. It not easy to push so hard when there are so many tricky places. I am pleased that I managed to avoid mistakes. All these things contributed to our good day. I hope that it will be equally positive tomorrow.
